Rebecca Lenkiewicz has been announced as this year’s recipient of the WGA West’s Paul Selvin Award for penning the script for “She Said.” The honor is “presented to that member whose script best embodies the spirit of the constitutional and civil rights and liberties which are indispensable to the survival of free writers everywhere and to those whose defense Paul Selvin committed his professional life,” per the WGA.
“She Said” is based on Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey’s book of the same name and their NYT investigation. The film revisits how the journalists exposed Harvey Weinstein’s long history of abuse in Hollywood and helped bring the #MeToo movement to the mainstream. Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan star.
Lenkiewicz will be honored at the WGA Awards’ Los Angeles ceremony March 5, per Deadline. She’s up for a WGA Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for “She Said.”
