“Little Women” is headed back to theaters, this time with a script from Sarah Polley and the producing might of Amy Pascal.
Two decades after director Gillian Armstrong’s retelling of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel, Pascal has made the “Little Women” remake one of her several female-centric film priorities. Pascal will be joined on the producing team by Denise Di Novi and Robin Swicord, the latter of whom was nominated for a WGA Award for her screenplay for the Armstrong production.
Sony has yet to offer Polley the opportunity to helm the film. It is being reported that the “Stories We Tell” filmmaker will decide whether she wants to direct the drama after she completes the script. Polley is already attached to direct the adaptation of “The Fault in Our Stars” author John Green’s first YA novel, “Looking for Alaska”, and she has also been attached to the adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s novel “Alias Grace” (but there has been no news on that project in some time).”
