Soledad O’Brien is taking over in the second season of political magazine show “Matter of Fact,” Variety reports. She’ll step in as an anchor and producer, and the program will be renamed “Matter of Fact with Soleded O’Brien.” The previous host was Fernando Espulas.
The half-hour series is produced out of the Newseum in Washington D.C. O'Brien suggested that “Matter of Fact” differentiates itself from the rest of morning talk by moving “the conversation out of the east coast or the west coast.”
“I realized their whole goal was really to elevate the stories and conversation across the country,” she said. She elaborated, “Most of the people I do interviews with, whether they are friendly or contentious, they always respect that the conversation will be smart and they will be held to a really high standard.”
O’Brien will debut on the show on the weekend of September 10–11 with a commemoration of the 15th anniversary of 9/11.
