“Starstruck” Renewed for Season 3 By HBO Max

"Starstruck": BBC

Our favorite romance about a drunken New Year’s Eve hookup is coming back. Rose Matafeo’s “Starstruck” has been renewed for a third season by HBO Max and and BBC Three. Deadline confirmed the news.

Set in East London, the comedy follows Jessie (Matafeo), a New Zealander in her 20s working two dead end jobs whose life gets turned upside down when she falls for a famous movie star (Nikesh Patel).

Matafeo collaborates on the series with writer Alice Snedden, who also appears in “Starstuck” as Amelia.

“Rose has created a show that strikes just the right balance of heart and humor,” said Sarah Aubrey, HBO Max’s Head of Original Content. “’Starstruck’ is exactly the kind of rom-com that we love at HBO Max, and we are so happy to see Jessie and Tom’s story continue.”

Matafeo added, “A third? Sure. Fine. I’m truly thrilled to bring this incredibly talented cast back for a third installment, and equally excited to clamber into the director’s seat alongside my nice friend Alice Snedden who I cannot seem to get rid of.”
