The Black List, in partnership with The Latin Tracking Board, NALIP, Remezcla, and The Untitled Latinx Project, is now accepting submissions for the inaugural Latinx TV List. This new list is looking for one-hour and half-hour original pilots penned by at least one Latinx-identifying writer and featuring a prominent Latinx or Latin American character.
According to Deadline, any kind of story is eligible for the Latinx TV List. Writers should be Latinx and based in the United States, but can be from any country. Scripts from writing teams are fine as long as at least one member identifies as Latinx. Writers from all levels of experience are welcome to submit, and scripts can be bilingual as long as they are primarily in English. Web series scripts will not be considered.
Last summer, The Black List and several other orgs introduced The Latinx List, a collection of promising screenplays from Latinx writers about the Latinx experience. Among the first edition’s selectees were Barbara Cigarroa’s “The Other Side,” an exploration of the child migration crisis from the perspective of a Mexican American girl whose father sponsors undocumented minors for money.
The deadline to submit to the Latinx TV List is March 18. Selected writers will be notified this spring. Go to The Black List’s website to upload your script or find out more.
