Midge Maisel knows the secret to her success. She does her best comedic work “when I’m me,” she tells her manager in the new teaser for “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s” upcoming fourth season.
“No more opening act gigs,” Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) decides in the spot. “I will only do gigs where I can say what I want.” From now on, she wants to be a headliner who speaks her mind, like Lenny Bruce (Luke Kirby).
Susie (Alex Borstein), her manager, reminds Midge that “that’s not how the business works” — you can’t just become a headliner overnight. Midge doesn’t even have to think about it before declaring, “Then let’s change the business.”
Created by Amy Sherman-Palladino, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” has won 20 Emmys, including Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (Brosnahan), and twice for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (Borstein). In 2018, Sherman-Palladino became the first woman to win Emmys for both Comedy Writing and Comedy Directing. “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” has also nabbed a Peabody, a WGA Award, and three Golden Globes.
The new season of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” arrives February 18 on Prime Video.
