Thandie Newton Has DirecTV Show Renewed, Joins HBO Drama

Hollywood took an awful long time recognizing Thandie Newton’s talent, but better late than never, I suppose.

Newton recently became one of the small screen’s busiest actresses when her DirecTV series, the detective show Rogue, was renewed for a supersized third season. She then joined the cast of HBO’s upcoming sci-fi drama Westworld.

In Rogue, Newton plays an undercover cop looking for the man who killed her son. The 20-episode third season will resume in Spring 2015. The first and seasons both had 10 episodes each.

Westworld, based on Michael Crichton’s 1973 feature film about artifical intelligence, will find Newton playing another brilliant woman: “Maeve Millay, a beautiful and razor-sharp woman with a genius for reading people and a knack for survival. Maeve is the Westworld madame whose seen-it-all-before worldview is about to be truly challenged,” per THR.

We’re more than ready for a lot more Thandie.
