Writer-director Susanne Bier will deliver the keynote speech at Screen Film Summit 2016, Screen International reports. Just over a month ago the prolific Danish filmmaker picked up an Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, Movie, or a Dramatic Special for “The Night Manager,” a BBC/AMC limited series centered around a hotel manager turned spy (Tom Hiddleston).

According to Screen Film Summit’s website, the event, scheduled for November 24 in London, “will give a detailed analysis of the UK film industry coupled with expert opinion on how it will develop. With high profile speakers sharing insight into production, distribution, funding, talent and audience development this one day event will explore new trends and the opportunities they present across all areas of the industry.” The Summit will also offer attendees the opportunity to “examine the issues at the forefront of today’s screen industry, debate the challenges that lie ahead, and network with the best of the British film industry.”

Other speakers confirmed for the annual event include Faye Ward, Creative Director of Fable Pictures, Lucy Jones, Executive Director of comScore, and producer Julia Nottingham (“All These Sleepless Nights”).

Screen Film Summit 2016’s program features “speed-dating” style meetings with Film4, Film London, and Red Rock Entertainment among the participants, and sessions focused on assessing investment and private funding as well as marketing movies.

Bier has over a dozen feature credits to her name, including “In a Better World,” a drama that won the Oscar for Best Foreign-Language Film in 2011. She directed every episode of “The Night Manager.” The thriller led to many rumors about its star, Hiddleston, taking on the role of another famous spy — James Bond. Sources are also buzzing about Bier being on the short-list of directors being considered to helm the next Bond film — an opportunity she would, to put it mildly, embrace. “I would probably cut off my ear to do James Bond,” she has said.
