Grab your BBF and your coolest car. “Thelma & Louise” is coming back to theaters for two days only in celebration of its 25th anniversary
As part of Fathom Events’ efforts to bring classic movies to the big screen, “Thelma & Louise” will hit 500 theaters nationwide on August 21 and 24, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. daily.
As a Fathom press release details, “Amid all of today’s talk about female-driven movies and box-office success, ‘Thelma & Louise’ was a breakout box-office hit and was nominated for six Oscars (including both Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon as Best Actress) — winning an Academy Award for Callie Khouri’s groundbreaking, mesmerizing screenplay. ‘Thelma & Louise’ turned an ordinary weekend getaway into an extraordinary event — and made legends of both the title characters and the movie, a roaringly intense thriller driven (literally) by two of the strongest representations of women and female power ever. They galvanized audiences then … and are ready to do it again.”
Tickets are on sale now at www.fathomevents.com or at participating theater box offices.
