Tiffany Haddish Exec Producing Stand-Up Series for Netflix

Haddish: Netflix

Tiffany Haddish is teaming up with Netflix to showcase six rising comedians. A press release has confirmed the “Girls Trip” actress is executive producing stand-up series “Tiffany Haddish Presents: They Ready.” The show will consist of six half-hour specials, each featuring a comic personally chosen by Haddish.

“I am introducing six of my favorite comedians — in my eyes, they are super stars,” said Haddish. “The epitome of ‘They Ready.’”

“They Ready’s” comedians are Chaunté Wayans (“Wild n’ Out,” “50 Shades of Black”), April Macie (“Last Comic Standing”), Tracey Ashley (“The Last O.G.”), Aida Rodriguez (“Last Comic Standing”), Flame Monroe (“Def Comedy Jam”), and Marlo Williams (BET’s “Comicview”). They all have collaborated with Haddish before in the comedy world or in television. “In an industry that too often excludes women, people of color, and LGBTQ performers, this diverse group of comedians, both in style and background, are ready for their time in the spotlight,” the press release stressed.

Haddish is exec producing via her She Ready Productions. Push It Productions’ Wanda Sykes and Page Hurwitz will serve as EPs as well.

Haddish became a household name when she appeared as the foul-mouthed, proudly sex positive Dina in 2017’s hit comedy “Girls Trip.” Since then she’s been in films such as “The Oath” and “Nobody’s Fool” and a series regular on TBS’ “The Last O.G.” You can catch her next as the voice of Tuca in Lisa Hanawalt’s animated Netflix series “Tuca & Bertie,” premiering May 3, and opposite Melissa McCarthy and Elisabeth Moss in Andrea Berloff’s crime drama, “The Kitchen,” out August 9.
