If you’re an assistant in the entertainment industry and looking to take the next step in your career, Time’s Up is here for you. A press release from the gender equality and inclusion coalition announced that it is accepting applications for Time’s Up Entertainment’s Who’s in the Room (WITR) mentorship program.
Introduced last December, WITR’s goal is to transform show business’ executive and producer pipeline, making it more inclusive and accessible to individuals from underrepresented groups. The program will provide participants, called JUMPers, with “an intensive mentoring relationship,” industry-specific training, networking opportunities, and financial aid.
“Who’s in the Room is seeking passionate assistants who are eager and ready to make the JUMP in their career to the next level,” said Michelle Jones, Program Manager at Time’s Up Entertainment. “Through the program, we are excited to help young, diverse executives and producers-in-the-making build a powerful network of peers and mentors who will support them through their journey.”
Eligible applicants should be assistants with one to three years’ experience in the biz. The final round of the application process will consist of a mandatory bootcamp workshop for applicants on May 4 and 5. That’s when the most qualified candidates will be matched with their mentors.
The WITR application period will be open through April 19. To apply or to find out more about the eligibility requirements, click here.
