Jodi (Ava Michelle) faces her greatest enemy in “Tall Girl 2.” Directed by Emily Ting, the sequel sees the teenager battling her nasty inner voice after booking the lead in her school’s musical. “You finally got your dream. You think you can actually pull this off?” she asks herself in a new trailer for the pic.
Things have changed for Jodi since the original “Tall Girl.” Her big speech at the homecoming dance put her on everyone’s radar. No longer known as just being the “tall girl,” Jodi is popular, and she’s ready to face her fears and step into the spotlight — until the negative voice in her head gets louder. “There’s no worse bully than the one you create in your head,” her older sister (Sabrina Carpenter) tells her.
Ting’s other credits include “Go Back to China” and “Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong.”
Nzingha Stewart directed 2019’s “Tall Girl.” Since then, she’s gone on to direct episodes of series such as “Maid,” “Little Fires Everywhere,” and “Black Monday.”
“Tall Girl 2” launches on Netflix February 11.
