The broads are back to say goodbye. A new trailer has landed for the fifth and final season of “Broad City,” and it looks like Abbi (Abbi Jacobson) and Ilana’s (Ilana Glazer) swan song will be action-packed. In an endlessly gif-able series of clips, we see that Ilana’s still disrespecting Abbi’s boundaries, Abbi still hates herself, and an old boyfriend is back on the scene. But the BFF stoners have a brand new addition to their lives: a child. The clip sees the pals smothering a toddler with kisses — before being told by the girl’s mom to get the fuck away from her. No, Abbi and Ilana haven’t adopted a daughter, but major changes are on the horizon.
“In the final season, Ilana starts her own business and learns about her ancestors, while Abbi turns 30 and… tries to pull off a hat,” the show’s synopsis hints. Thankfully Bobbi (Susie Essman), Ilana’s mom, is there to provide reassurance. “No matter what the outcome, don’t be scared,” she tells the terror-stricken friends.
“Broad City” returns to Comedy Central tonight, January 24. Jacobson and Glazer created the series.
