“You really wanna die for this kid?” Angelina Jolie is asked in a new trailer for “Those Who Wish Me Dead.” The Montana-set survival thriller sees the Oscar winner playing a wilderness expert haunted by her past and willing to risk everything to save a stranger.
Convinced that she’s responsible for the loss of three lives in a fire, Hannah (Jolie) is struggling with feeling helpless when she encounters a bloody and traumatized 12-year-old boy (Finn Little) being pursued by assassins. “My dad said if anything happened I should find someone I can trust. Are you someone I can trust?” he asks her.
His trust in Hannah is eventually put to the test when she gives him strict instructions: “You’re going to run and you’re going to keep running,” she demands.
Jolie won an Oscar in 2000 for her supporting role in “Girl, Interrupted” and received a nom in 2009 for her leading role in “Changeling.” She’s signed on to helm “Unreasonable Behaviour,” a biopic of British war photographer Don McCullin. Her other directing credits include “First They Killed My Father” and “Unbroken.”
“Those Who Wish Me Dead” hits theaters and HBO Max May 14.
