A new trailer for “Audrey” suggests that there was a “real” side to the Audrey Hepburn “that people didn’t know.” Described as both “revolutionary” and a “gift to the camera,” the actress, humanitarian, and fashion icon never thought she’d end up in Hollywood. “My dream was to become a ballet dancer, but I plunged into show business,” the “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” star reveals in the spot.
“The best kept secret about Audrey was that she wanted to be loved,” we’re told. The doc explores the impact that WWII had on a young Hepburn as well as the fallout from her parents’ divorce. “Audrey” also revisits the screen legend’s humanitarian work with UNICEF.
A five-time Academy Award nominee, Hepburn won an Oscar for her leading role in “Roman Holiday.” She died in 1993, and was presented posthumously with the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award.
Directed by Helena Coan (“Chasing Perfect”), “Audrey” will be released via DVD and Blu-ray December 15 and is slated to hit VOD and Digital January 5, 2021.
