“Twenty-four frames per second — that’s the standard frame rate for cinematic storytelling. Over 100,000 frames come together to create magic. What if we could step into a single powerful frame designed and directed by visionary filmmakers?” asks Ava DuVernay in a new trailer for “One Perfect Shot.” Created for TV by the “Selma” director and based on the Twitter account of the same name, the HBO Max series sees directors pulling back the curtain on their most iconic shots.
The series follows helmers such as “Wonder Woman’s” Patty Jenkins and “Harriet’s” Kasi Lemmons as they enter each shot, “walking through the scene in 360 degree moments that allow viewers to join an immersive exploration of moviemaking. Filmmakers share their obstacles, challenges, lessons, and triumphs as they detail the road to their one perfect shot,” the show’s synopsis details.
“We’re conjuring feelings and emotions,” says Lemmons. Cynthia Erivo, the Oscar-nominated star of “Harriet,” emphasizes that Lemmons “understood the story of Harriet Tubman. It was told as truly as possible.”
“One Perfect Shot” launches March 24 on HBO Max.
