A new Netflix documentary is giving us an intimate look into what goes into a living legend’s stage show. “I’m feeling the love. It’s wonderful,” Barbra Streisand tells her audience in a new trailer for “Barbra: The Music… The Mem’ries… The Magic!” As the spot makes clear, her fans’ love is reciprocated. “Every time Barbra hits the road she wants to say, ‘What can I bring the audience this time? What can be special?’” one of her collaborators explains.
The upcoming doc offers the chance to see what goes on both on-stage and behind the scenes at a Streisand concert. We of course hear Streisand’s iconic pipes but also catch glimpses of her rehearsing, working with famous friends — including Melissa McCarthy — and simply hanging out and eating.
Streisand’s many, many honors include two Oscars and 10 Grammys.
The singer, actress, producer, writer, and director has said that she decided to pursue the latter because she “couldn’t be heard.”
“Barbra: The Music… The Mem’ries… The Magic!” begins streaming on Netflix November 22. Streisand co-directed the feature with Jim Gable (“Sting: Live in Berlin”).
