Catherine Tate hits the road in “The Nan Movie,” a comedy that sees her reprising the role she first played in BBC’s “The Catherine Tate Show.” A trailer for the pic reintroduces us to Nan and her grandson, Jamie (Matthew Horne), who embark on a trip from London to Ireland so Nan can make amends with her estranged sister, who is dying.
“Listen up, millennials,” announces Nan. The grandma is ready to show off her “stamina.” We see her getting into all sorts of trouble at clubs and bars, and even escaping an explosion. The spot also features flashbacks that hint at what went down with Nan and her sister.
“The Office” and “Doctor Who” are among Tate’s other credits. She co-wrote the script for “The Nan Movie” with Brett Goldstein (“Ted Lasso”). It launches in theaters and on VOD July 22.
