Chef Samin Nosrat has, by her own account, spent her entire life in pursuit of flavor. She’s traveled around the world exploring what defines good cooking — and she’s sharing her findings in a new Netflix docuseries based on her award-winning 2017 book, “Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat.”
Directed by Caroline Suh (“The 4%: Film’s Gender Problem,” “Frontrunners”), the four-part series takes viewers along for the journey as Nosrat travels to locations as varied as Italy, the southern islands of Japan, and the Yucatán. Along the way, she she demystifies what makes food taste good: salt, fat, acid, and heat.
The spot sees Nosrat enthusiastically geeking out over good food, and offering some advice: “Be thoughtful. Be curious,” she urges. “Good cooking is within reach for everyone.”
“Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat” launches on Netflix October 11.
