Life-or-death situations are rarely as literal as the one teenage Mia (Chloe Grace Moretz) faces: Should she live or die?
A new trailer has been released for the big-screen adaptation of Gayle Forman’s YA novel If I Stay. Mia, an aspiring classical cellist, lies in a coma after a devastating car accident that kills the rest of her family. Dissociated from her body, some part of her consciousness can see, feel, and hear everything around her, including her new rocker boyfriend Adam (Jamie Blackley). Mia eavesdrops on doctors, her grieving friends, and loyal Adam as they visit her in the hospital, all the while revisiting her past to figure out what she really wants out of life.
Directed by The September Issue helmer R.J. Cutler, the script is penned by Whip It writer Shauna Cross.
The film opens on August 22.
