Trailer Watch: Kiernan Shipka Walks a Darker Path in “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” Season 2

"Chilling Adventures of Sabrina"

The debut season of “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” saw the half-witch at the center of its story signing her name to the Book of the Beast and making a commitment to the Dark Lord. A trailer has dropped for Season 2 of the Netflix hit, and it looks like Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) is very much enjoying her new, darker side.

“Something is different about Sabrina,” her aunt Hilda (Lucy Davis) notes.

Sabrina isn’t denying the transformation. “I feel like I’ve been walking down this darker path, but maybe it’s not so bad,” the teen explains.

But by Sabrina’s own admission, “this is uncharted territory.” What remains the same is that she’s still struggling to find the balance between her identity and relationships in the mortal world with her life as a student at The Academy of Unseen Arts.

“I can choose to be afraid of my powers or I can use them,” Sabrina says. She seems to be embracing the latter option. And those powers are keeping her busy. “Levitation, the slaughter of demons, the resurrection of witches. how does a first-year, half-mortal student manage that?” asks Father Blackwood (Richard Coyle), the High Priest of the Church of Night and Dean of the Academy of the Unseen Arts.

“Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’s” sophomore season drops April 5.
