“My mom doesn’t tell me how to live my life. Megan Thee Stallion does,” says Maitreyi Ramakrishnan in a new trailer for “Never Have I Ever.” The second season of Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher’s coming-of-age comedy sees Devi (Ramakrishnan) torn between Ben and Paxton. The former “gets [her] super brainy side” and the latter “gets [her] mega horny side.” With two boys vying for her affections and a move to India on the horizon, Devi decides to date both of them until she leaves the country.
As Nalini (Poorna Jagannathan), Dev’s mother, puts it, “You never take no for an answer. You never let anyone get in the way of what you want.” Despite vowing that she’s “a changed woman” and “as chill as a Slurpee,” Dev seems to be rattled by the arrival of a new student — an Indian girl that she thinks is prettier and cooler than she is.
Ramakrishnan recently signed on to topline “The Netherfield Girls,” Becca Gleason’s contemporary take on Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice.”
“Never Have I Ever’s” second season drops on Netflix July 15
