Phoebe Waller-Bridge is ready to address the “screaming void inside [her] empty heart” in Season 2 of “Fleabag.” A trailer has dropped for the dark comedy’s second season, and sees Fleabag (Waller-Bridge) seeking therapy as well as spiritual counseling, despite the fact that she doesn’t believe in God. She’s fallen for a priest (Andrew Scott), though she’s fighting to resist her decidedly unholy thoughts about him.
“I read your book,” Fleabag tells the clergyman, referring to the Bible. “Do you think I should become a Catholic?” Without skipping a beat her new confidant responds, “I like that you believe in a meaningless existence.”
In addition to starring in “Fleabag,” Waller-Bridge created the series, which she’s confirmed will conclude with this season. The BAFTA winner also created “Killing Eve.” The hit BBC America spy thriller is currently in its second season.
Season 2 of “Fleabag” hits Amazon Prime May 17.
