“I’m grateful to have a life in music. There are things that I haven’t achieved , but I’m not done yet,” says Sarah Jessica Parker in a new trailer for “Here and Now.” The “Sex and the City” alumna plays Vivienne, a singer-songwriter with nearly a dozen albums to her name. Music pays her bills, and she has the opportunity to play legendary clubs with musicians she admires. But her career has come at a cost.
Set in New York City, “Here and Now” sees Vivienne reevaluating her priorities after receiving life-altering news. “I’ve missed so much,” she acknowledges, likely referring to milestones in her daughter’s (Gus Birney) life. Lucie lives with her father, and the footage suggests that she and Vivenne have a complicated relationship.
Formerly titled “Blue Night,” the drama premiered at Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year. “Here and Now” hits theaters and VOD November 9. Laura Eason (“House of Cards”) penned the script.
Check out the trailer to see Vivienne reconnect with an old friend (Renée Zellweger) and get a pep talk from her mother (Jacqueline Bisset).
No word on whether Parker’s HBO comedy “Divorce” will be returning for a third season.
