A bullet wound has merely upped the stakes on TV’s sexiest game of cat and mouse. “Killing Eve’s” second season concluded with a cliffhanger: Villanelle (Jodie Comer) shot Eve (Sandra Oh) in the back, leaving the MI5 agent for dead. A new teaser for the thriller’s third season sees Villanelle reflecting on Eve’s absence from her life.
“I just had a really bad breakup,” the assassin says, “and when I think about my ex, I realize I’m so much happier now she’s dead.” Villanelle explains that since Eve has been gone, she’s been “moving up in the world.” But her world changes overnight when she’s told that Eve survived their last meeting and is very much alive.
Originally slated to air April 26, the third season of the Emmy-winning series will debut April 12 on BBC America and AMC. Suzanne Heathcote (“Fear the Walking Dead”) serves as head writer of “Killing Eve” this season. The hit series, created by “Fleabag’s” Phoebe Waller-Bridge, has already been renewed for a fourth season. Laura Neal, whose credits include “Sex Education” and “Secret Diary of a Call Girl,” has been tapped as lead writer.
