It Will Be Chaos (Documentary) – Co-Directed by Lorena Luciano (Premieres June 18on HBO)

Life in Southern Italy is thrown into a tailspin when refugees arrive by the thousands and the locals are left to fend for themselves. Eritrean survivor Aregai, trapped in the faltering Italian immigration system, goes underground to reach Northern Europe. Through his journey, intercut with the road trip to Germany of a Syrian family, the clash between the newcomers and the locals escalates in real time. (Press materials)

Hannah Gadsby: Nanette (Comedy Special) – Co-Directed by Madeleine Parry; Written by Hannah Gadsby (Premieres June 19 on Netflix)

In her hilarious stand-up special comedian Hannah Gadsby gets up close and personal about her life and growing up gay on the small island of Tasmania. Recently hailed by the New York Times as a “major new voice in comedy,” Hannah keeps her audience at the Sydney Opera House laughing with her sharp observations as she takes aim at everything from pride parades, unsolicited opinions, and the whole history of art before she turns her punchlines into sucker punches, silencing the laughs and flipping the art of comedy completely on its head. Love Is ___ – Co-Created by Mara Brock Akil (Premieres June 19 on OWN)

Set primarily in 1990s Los Angeles against the backdrop of Black Hollywood, “Love Is___” follows Nuri (Michele Weaver) and Yasir (Will Catlett), a couple from seemingly opposite worlds, as they chase their dreams and learn to follow their hearts. Told from the perspective of the couple’s present-day selves, the romantic drama also revisits the social issues and vibrant black culture of that time, reflecting on how it all aligned to shape the couple they have become nearly 20 years later — a power couple navigating a complex set of social codes while also balancing successful careers and a beautiful family. “Next Of Kin” follows whip-smart General Practitioner Mona Shirani (Archie Panjabi) who lives a charmed life at the heart of a loving family in London. Unfortunately, she is left grief-stricken when her beloved brother is brutally murdered while working for a medical charity overseas. As the death brings buried family secrets to light, Mona is drawn into a tangle of betrayal, conspiracy, and murder. Sam Swift (Rachel Bilson) is the former star of a hit cop series whose epic breakdown is broadcast to the public and sends her to rehab. Desperate to restart her career, she talks her way into shadowing lone-wolf private investigator Eddie Valetik (Eddie Cibrian) as research for a potential comeback role.
