Women and Hollywood has been given the opportunity to recommend five writers for the Fox Writers Intensive (FWI). This needs to happen very quickly, as the whole process needs to be completed by October 16th.
This won’t be perfect, but here’s how we are going to do this.
If you are a female writer with experience in film, television, theater and/or other literary media and you want to be considered for FWI here’s what you need to do.
Send a one-paragraph description of you and your work and why you think Women and Hollywood should nominate you.
List your writing credits. Scripts you have written that have been produced. Shows you have written for etc.
People who don’t follow instructions, will not be considered. PS- You will only hear from me if you are selected.
Here’s some information on the Writers Initiative:
The Fox Writers Intensive (FWI) is an initiative designed to nurture experienced writers with diverse voices, backgrounds and life experiences and creates a solid pipeline of well-rounded talent for potential staffing on Fox television shows, films and other Fox entertainment platforms. The initiative offers experienced writers a rigorous, four-month curriculum focused on 1) developing original material; 2) learning and honing writing skills for multiple mediums; and 3) exploring the business of media and entertainment. Upon successful completion, FWI finalists receive priority-staffing meetings for the dedicated Fox Staff Writer position on Fox Television Group Productions. Annually, one FWI Fellow is awarded either a purchase and development deal on his/her original script or a “first-look” deal from Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) or one of the Fox affiliated production entities.
The program will take place from January to May 2016. For more information, please visit the FWI website at http://www.foxaudiencestrategy.com/
Send all entries to melissa@womenandhollywood.com by Friday, October 2 at 5pm EST. (If selected, you will need to send an application to Fox by October 16.)
