Eva Longoria’s Production Company Adapting “940 Saturdays” Book for ABC

Eva Longoria in “Desperate Housewives”: ABC

Eva Longoria, an increasingly busy multi-hyphenate, has another television series in the works.

Longoria is reuniting with ABC, the network behind “Desperate Housewives,” to develop “940 Sundays,” a comedy based on Harley Rotbart’s 2014 book, Variety reports. Longoria, alongside her producing partner Ben Spector, will serve as an executive producer on the series. Their production company, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, “is behind the project with Universal Television where the production company is under a deal. UnbeliEVAble is also under a deal for film at Universal Pictures,” writes Variety.

Longoria will again join forces with “Telenovela” creators Chrissy Pietrosh and Jessica Goldstein on “940 Saturdays.” Pietrosh and Goldstein will be writing the TV adaptation.

The series’ source material is Rotbart’s book about the “940 Saturdays from the day your child is born to the day they turn 18-years-old,” Variety writes. The adaptation will center on “three families who band together to enjoy — and survive — those 940 weekends.”

“940 Saturdays” is just the latest project on Longoria’s docket. The recent first-look deal between Universal and her UnbeliEVAble Entertainment will bring Lauren Iungerich’s “My Daughter’s Quinceañera” to the big screen. ABC has also picked up UnbeliEVAble Entertainment’s series “Magnum” under “a script commitment plus substantial penalty” agreement, according to Deadline.

Longoria continues to act in addition to her behind-the-scenes work. She recently starred in “Telenovela,” recurred in “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” and cameoed as herself in “Devious Maids.” She served as an executive producer for both “Devious Maids” and “Telenovela.”

Longoria will appear in next year’s mini-series “Decline and Fall,” and the upcoming films “Low Rider” and “Refugio.”
