Lake Bell’s In A World Gets Post-Sundance Pick Up

nullLake Bell’s directorial debut In A World finally got a post-Sundance pick up by Roadside Attractions and Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions.  This was one of our favorite movies at Sundance.  It was smart, totally different (the world of voice over artists!) and totally feminist.  The message was subtle, but the point was clear, why do men have to be the "voice of god" in movies?  It's about having and owning your voice.

Roadside will handle the U.S. release, slated for this summer, and Sony will do the worldwide release.  The film got excellent reviews out of Sundance. Bell won the Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at the festival.

Bell released a statement about the deal.

I've already been spoiled with my unforgettable experience at Sundance, but now, to be working with Roadside as well as Sony to release the film is an embarrassment of riches. I'm so honored they share my enthusiasm.

With her great comedic work, Bell has proven herself to be a talent to watch. This is one to be excited about.
