70th Venice International Film Festival Announces Line Up

null

The 70th annual Venice International Film Festival announced their line up today and it’s very thin on women directed films.

There are only two women directed films out of the 20 films that are in competition. And from our research within the lineup announced today, there are only 8 women directed films (not counting short films) screening at Venice overall.

Those are sad numbers. You can find the Venice line up in full here. The 70th Venice International Film Festival runs from August 28th-September 7th.
