Leslie Jones will be pulling double duty at this year’s edition of the MTV Movie & TV Awards. Nominated in the best comedic performance category for her role in “Coming 2 America,” the “SNL” alumna is now also set to host the ceremony. Variety confirmed the news.
A three-time Emmy nominee for her work on “SNL,” Jones’ other credits include “Ghostbusters” and “Masterminds.” She hosted the BET Awards in 2017.
Elizabeth Olsen-starrer “WandaVision” leads this year’s nominees at the MTV Movie & TV Awards with five nods. Other series in the running for honors include “Bridgerton,” Shonda Rhimes’ smash hit period romance, Mindy Kaling coming-of-age comedy “Never Have I Ever,” and Michaela Coel sexual assault drama “I May Destroy You.” Emerald Fennell revenge thriller “Promising Young Woman” and Patty Jenkins’ “Wonder Woman 1984” are among the films up for awards.
