Sarah O’Gorman and Vicky Jewson are joining the Witcherverse. They have been tapped to direct “The Witcher: Blood Origin,” the prequel series to Netflix fantasy show “The Witcher.” Variety reports that O’Gorman and Jewson will each helm three installments of the six-episode limited series.
“Set in an elven world 1,200 years before the world of ‘The Witcher,’ the prequel series ‘Blood Origin’ will tell a story lost to time, including the creation of the first prototype Witcher and the events that lead to the pivotal Conjunction of the Spheres, when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one,” the source summarizes.
Principal photography on “Blood Origin” will begin sometime this month. The ensemble cast includes Michelle Yeoh and Sophia Brown.
O’Gorman directed two episodes of “The Witcher’s” upcoming second season. Episodes of “Cursed,” “The Last Kingdom,” and “Death in Paradise” are also among her many credits.
Jewson helmed the features “Close,” “Born of War,” and “Lady Godiva.” She served as producer on the former and as editor on “Born of War.” She exec produced the doc “I am Chut Wutty” as well.
