“And Just Like That…,” HBO Max’s “Sex and the City” revival, has generated plenty of headlines, conversation, and controversy since its December premiere. Now, a new documentary will allow audiences to engage even further with the show’s cast, crew, and creatives. A trailer has dropped for “And Just Like That… The Documentary,” which will premiere Thursday, February 3, to coincide with the “And Just Like That” finale.
The spot sees stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis reflecting on returning to the iconic “SATC” universe. “Even 23 years in, I’m excited,” Parker admits. “Terrified and excited.” Creator Michael Patrick King talks about creating the new character Che (Sara Ramirez), Carrie’s nonbinary colleague and podcast co-host. “It was very important to me to show someone who is more than one thing,” King explains. And we also get a glimpse of Nixon taking on directing duties. “She knows us so well and she knows acting so brilliantly,” Davis says of being directed by her co-star.
The show’s writers, producers, costumers, and ensemble cast also provide insight into reviving such a beloved cultural touchstone. “It’s everything. We’re here, and it’s a testament to these three actresses,” King says.
