Phoebe Robinson is conquering another medium with “Everything’s Trash,” a Freeform comedy based on her 2018 New York Times bestseller. The “2 Dope Queens” co-host released a stand-up special on HBO last year, and now she’s starring, writing, and exec producing a series inspired by her life. A trailer for “Everything’s Trash” introduces Phoebe (Robinson), a broke 30-something podcast host.
Phoebe’s antics are appreciated by some — including a friend who brings her a “ho bag” in the aftermath of an unexpected hookup and someone who describes her as “the brightest damn light” — but others are judgmental about her lifestyle. When her brother eyes political office, Phoebe “relies on her friends and close-knit family to help her figure out adulthood,” per the show’s synopsis.
Robinson’s acting credits include “What Men Want,” “Ibiza,” and “I Love Dick.”
“Everything’s Trash” premieres July 13 and starts streaming on Hulu July 14.
