Meredith Lavender & Marcie Ulin Sign Overall Deal With 20th Century Fox TV

Meredith Lavender: Dickie Morris / Just A Little Ditty

Long-time collaborators Meredith Lavender and Marcie Ulin are taking their partnership to the next level. The pair have signed a two-year overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television, Deadline reports. The pair most recently served as executive producers on the country music soap “Nashville” during its four-season run on ABC. (The series has since moved to CMT.)

“The pact comes on the heels of a development season in which Lavender and Ulin generated two solid contenders for the studio,” Deadline writes. “The duo received a put pilot commitment at Fox for a drama series adaptation of Ben Percy’s novel ‘Red Moon,’” and “sold a soapy drama to ABC about an elite co-ed Special Forces team, which also had a put pilot-caliber commitment and came close to a pilot order.”

The overall deal sees Lavender and Udin continuing their work as EPs on “Red Moon” as well as developing new projects for broadcast, cable, and streaming services.

“Meredith and Marcie are spectacular writers and we’ve loved developing with them this past season,” said 20th TV president of creative affairs Jonnie Davis. “While their female military project just missed getting ordered to pilot, Michael, myself, and our team knew we had to be in business with them for the long term. They are fantastic and we know there’s a big network success for them on the horizon. We have high expectations.”

Lavender and Udin previously worked together on series including “Covert Affairs,” “Charlie’s Angels,” and “Missing.” The duo met in the early 2000s at MGM Pictures, where Lavender was serving as assistant to MGM Pictures president Michael Nathanson and Ulin worked the desk of executive VP of production Elizabeth Ingold. They became work friends and eventually began writing together.
