A documentary miniseries about Princess Diana is coming to ABC. According to Deadline, the four-hour untitled project will air over two nights in August to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Princess’ death.

As Deadline reports, the miniseries is a co-production of ABC and Time Inc.’s People. It will feature interviews with those closest to Princess Diana, as well as “leading Diana experts.” “The interviews will be woven together with People’s reporting, as well as archival footage of the Princess of Wales. The documentary will explore Diana’s life, and will look at the ways in which her story remains relevant today.”

Born Diana Spencer, Princess Diana was and is an especially beloved member of the Royal Family and known for her humanitarian work. She broke with standard monarchy protocol by divorcing Prince Charles and speaking publicly about his affair with Camilla Bowles. After her marriage ended, Princess Diana’s personal life and relationships were scrutinized by the press and many believe the paparazzi are at least partially to blame for her death. She died in a car crash August 31, 1997 at the age of 36.

Princess Diana’s story has been told in narrative works before, including 2006’s “The Queen,” starring Helen Mirren. The Oscar-winning film explored Queen Elizabeth II’s life in the wake of Diana’s death. Naomi Watts portrayed the Princess of Wales in 2013’s “Diana,” which takes place over the last two years of the Princess’s life and depicts her romance with Hasnat Khan. Keira Knightley played Georgiana Spencer, Duchess of Devonshire, Diana’s direct ancestor, in 2008’s “The Duchess.” The drama examined the various parallels between the Duchess’ life and Diana’s.
