Aubrey Plaza’s “Nightmare Time” Gets Pilot Order from TBS

Aubrey Plaza in “Parks and Recreation”

“Parks and Recreation” star Aubrey Plaza is involved in a new TV project, but this time she’ll be working behind the scenes, Deadline reports. TBS has given a pilot order to Plaza’s “Nightmare Time,” a horror anthology set in Aubrey Plaza’s Nightmare Clinic, “where celebrity guests check in to overcome recurring nightmares.”

Plaza will guest star in the pilot, which she wrote along with Darcy Fowler, Kieran Valla, and Seth Kirschner. The actress will also executive produce the project.

According to the “Nightmare Time’s” logline, “Every episode features two insane nightmares, inspired by the horrors of modern society and uses tropes and touchstones of the horror genre to guide audiences through its absurd universe. Thanks to advanced technology, we’re able to peer into their restless minds, and witness their nightmares in real time.”

If you think the plot sounds like something Plaza’s character on “Parks and Recreation,” unabashed weirdo April Ludgate, would conceive with her friend Orin, you’re not alone. “Nightmare Time” promises to be a bizarre delight.

Plaza’s other acting credits include “The To Do List,” “Dirty Grandpa,” and “Life After Beth.” One of her upcoming projects, “Ingrid Goes West,” sees her teaming up with Elizabeth Olsen (“Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “Godzilla”). The dark comedy centers on a woman (Plaza) who’s obsessed with a social media star (Olsen) and begins stalking her.
