Trailer Watch: 24-Year-Old Emily Hagins Premieres “Coin Heist” on Netflix

Emily Hagins wrote and directed her first film, a teen zombie thriller, at just 12 years old. Now 24, the up and coming writer-director has a feature debuting on Netflix, and the trailer has just dropped.

“Coin Heist” stars Sasha Pieterse (“Pretty Little Liars”), Alex Saxon (“Finding Carter” and “The Fosters”), Alexis G. Zall, and Jay Walker.

“When a crisis threatens to destroy their high school,” the synopsis details, “four teens hatch a daring plan to raise $10 Million. Step one? Breaking into the U.S. Mint.”

Hagins has had two films, “My Sucky Teen Romance” and “Grow Up, Tony Phillips,” premiere at the SXSW Film Festival, one in 2011 and one in 2013. She also wrote/directed a segment of ChillerTV’s horror anthology Chilling Visions: The Five Senses of Fear titled “Touch.”

“Coin Heist” will hit Netflix on January 6, 2017. Check out the trailer below. This is one young woman we’re going to be keeping an eye on.
