Trailer Watch: Maria Sole Tognazzi’s Romantic Comedy “Me, Myself and Her”

“Me, Myself and Her”

A trailer has been released for “Me, Myself and Her,” a humorous look at a couple going through a difficult time. According to a press release for the Maria Sole Tognazzi-directed film, “Me, Myself and Her” marks “Italy’s first feature lesbian romantic comedy.”

Written by Tognazzi, Francesca Marciano, and Ivan Controneo, the film centers on Federica (Margherita Buy, “His Secret Life”) and Marina (Sabrina Ferilli, “The Great Beauty”), a lesbian couple who seemingly have it all. They are deeply in love, live in a fancy apartment in Rome, and are working their dream jobs. Their stable, happy relationship takes a turn “when retired actress Marina suddenly decides to get back into the movies and Federica — still questioning her sexuality — pursues a fling with a man,” “Me, Myself and Her’s” official synopsis details.

The trailer kicks off with the pair testing out a potential new bed, discussing everything from its softness to how it will feel in the usual “spoon position.” “I never loved a woman before you. It never crossed my mind,” Federica tells Marina. But the spot also gives a sense of the tension to come, with snippets of uncomfortable conversations and ultimatums.

Tognazzi’s previous credits include “A Five Star Life,” “The Man Who Loves,” and “Past Perfect.”

“Me, Myself and Her” will be released on DVD and VOD December 6.
