Amanda Plummer Receives Oldenburg Fest’s Lifetime Achievement Award

Amanda Plummer in “Cattle Annie and Little Britches”

Three-time Emmy-winner Amanda Plummer has received the Oldenburg International Film Festival’s Lifetime Achievement Award. The actress accepted the honor on Friday September 16 at the German indie festival. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the fest’s celebration of Plummer’s work included screenings of “Pulp Fiction,” “The Fisher King,” and “Butterfly Kiss.”

German director Linus de Paoli introduced Plummer onstage. He repeated great advice that Plummer herself gave him when the two worked together on his first feature, “Dr. Ketel”: “Don’t be afraid to fall. We’ll fall together and see what happens.”

Plummer has won two Emmy Awards in the Guest Actress in a Drama Series category — one in 2005 for “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” and the other in 1996 for “The Outer Limits.” In 1992 she took home an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Special for “Miss Rose White,” a performance which also scored her a Golden Globes nom. Plummer has also worked extensively in theater, and received a Tony Award in 1982 for her role in “Agnes of God.”

Plummer’s recent credits include “Honeyglue,” “The Blacklist,” and “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.”
