Mindy Kaling’s stacked resume continues to expand, Deadline reports. The creator, executive producer, and star of Hulu’s “The Mindy Project” just scored a put pilot commitment from NBC for a new single-camera sibling comedy she created with “Mindy Project” EP Charlie Grandy. The two penned the project.

According to Deadline, the “untitled comedy centers on a charismatic gym owner with no ambition who lives with his younger brother, a gorgeous idiot. Their simple life of women and working out is put on hold when they have to take in the older brother’s son — whom they have never met.” While this plot summary makes the comedy sound scarce on female characters save for booty calls, we’re confident that the series would include better, more fleshed out roles for actresses. If Kaling’s previous work on “The Office” and “The Mindy Project” is any indication, she gravitates towards large ensemble casts with eclectic characters.

Kaling has also shown a knack for portraying relationship dynamics between siblings: In “The Mindy Project,” her character’s charismatic, reckless younger brother unsuccessfully pursues a career as a rapper, while she works as an OBGYN. The two have great chemistry and back-and-forths.

This new project stems from Kaling’s deal with Universal TV, which sees her writing, producing, and acting. Deadline writes, “Uni TV is producing the comedy with Kaling’s Kaling International banner and 3 Arts Entertainment. Kaling and Grandy executive produce alongside 3 Arts’ Howard Klein.”

Kaling launched on to the scene as a writer and actress on NBC’s “The Office.” It was recently revealed that she’ll make her feature screenwriting debut with a comedy about a late-night host: She’ll star in the untitled film with Oscar winner Emma Thompson. Kaling has also signed on to “Ocean’s Eight,” the all-female, star-studded “Ocean’s 11” reboot, and will play Mrs. Who in Ava DuVernay’s Disney film “A Wrinkle in Time.”
