2017 WriteHer List Nominations Are Now Open

The nomination period for the 2017 WriteHer list is now open.

WeForShe, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping balance the gender-landscape in television, founded the WriteHer list in 2015 to “spotlight deserving scripts by women featuring strong female characters, a parallel to the Black List that showcases screenplays for the small screen available for development.”

Once again, the group is seeking out your favorite female-written, female-driven, unproduced television pilot scripts.

Television may seem like a more inclusive place for women, and when it comes to character representation, it certainly feels that way. But in the writing and directing fields, women are still underutilized and undervalued. WeForShe’s WriteHer List is one of the ways we can help change that.

“WeForShe’s goal is to improve the numbers of female storytellers employed in the industry,” the announcement reads. “By sourcing industry executives for their favorites, we can provide the town with a curated list of the best available female-driven scripts. In turn, women featured on the list improve their marketability both as series creators and staff writers.”

Here’s how to submit:

Deadline: November 15, 2016.
