Carrie Preston Joins TNT Pilot “Claws”

Carrie Preston in “The Good Wife”: CBS

Carrie Preston, who starred in “The Good Wife” and “True Blood,” is set to co-star in TNT’s “Claws,” a new pilot from Rashida Jones and Will McCormack’s Le Train Train and Warner Horizon.

Preston joins Niecy Nash and Karrueche Tran in the hour-long dramedy, which Deadline reports is set in a South Florida nail salon. The series “is said to be in the vein ofDesperate Housewives.’ It follows the lives of five diverse and treacherous Florida manicurists. It soon becomes clear there is a lot more going on at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon than silk wraps and pedicures.”

Preston will play Polly, “a mild-mannered preppy who works as a manicurist at the nail salon. Polly has recently been released from prison, where she did time for identity theft on seniors.”

Janine Sherman Barrois (“Criminal Minds”) is executive producer and showrunner of the pilot. Nicole Kassell (“The Killing,” “The Americans”) will direct.

Preston earned an Emmy Award in 2013 for her role on “The Good Wife.” She was nominated again this year.
