Trailer Watch: “Below Her Mouth” Benefited From an All-Female Crew

“Below Her Mouth”

Sometimes kicking the men off set leads to a more authentic performance, and that’s exactly what “Below Her Mouth” was going for, as is revealed in its steamy new trailer.

The film was written by Stephanie Fabrizi, directed by April Mullen, produced by Melissa Coghlan, and was shot with an all-female crew. It stars Swedish supermodel Erika Linder in her acting debut and Canadian actress Natalie Krill.

“Below Her Mouth” tells the story of “a passionate weekend affair between two women who meet after a chance encounter. Dallas (Linder), a roofer, and Jasmine (Krill), a fashion editor, share a powerful and immediate connection that inevitably derails both of their lives,” the official synopsis reads.

The all-female set “allowed the actresses to feel more vulnerable and more comfortable, to expose themselves in a really shocking and amazing way, where I feel they even surprised themselves,” Mullen told The Hollywood Reporter.

Linder explained to THR, “I did a (fashion) shoot once where I had to end up being naked, and there were all men on set, and I was like, how will this work? You’re naked. You feel vulnerable,” she said, comparing the experience.

“It’s like being in a women’s change room. You feel more comfortable to do that level of intimacy when it’s just women,” Krill added.

“Below Her Mouth” will make its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10.
