Rooney Mara stars in “Una,” an adaptation of the play “Blackbird,” which follows a young woman seeking answers for long-ago events that have shaped her path in life, for better or worse.
The film is premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival and from the looks of this new clip, it’s a tense drama that utilizes Mara’s bold stare.
As Creative Scotland reports, the film’s official synopsis reads, “When a young woman (Mara) unexpectedly arrives at an older man’s workplace (Ben Mendelsohn), looking for answers, the secrets of the past threaten to unravel the new life he has created for himself. Their confrontation will uncover buried memories and unspeakable desires. It will shake them both to the core.”
The film shifts back and forth in perspective and through time, showing the past and present of both characters.
“Una” will premiere as a Special Presentation at TIFF on on Sunday, September 11. Watch the tense clip below.
