Jennifer Cho Suhr to Write/Direct Estranged Korean-American Sisters Tale ‘You & Me Both’

nullJennifer Cho Suhr will make her directorial debut with "You & Me Both," a road-trip movie about two estranged Korean-American sisters in search of their birth mother. After the death of their adoptive mom, the sisters — one of them an ex-addict — drive from Iowa to Alaska to find that other mother.

The script is also written by Suhr. The feature will be filmed next summer, possibly in Canada.

"You & Me Both" received the Tribeca All Access Grant and NALIP’s Diverse Women in Media Residency Lab. It will be produced by Mollye Asher and Carolyn Mao.

Asher has produced several other female-helmed features, including Chloe Zhao’s "Songs My Brothers Taught Me," Anja Marquardt’s "She’s Lost Control" and Sarah-Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers’s "Fort Tilden."
