VH1 has announced that Missy Elliott will be honored at the upcoming “VH1 Hip Hop Honors: All Hail the Queens” event for her work as an artist, producer, and writer.

As we previously reported, “After a six-year hiatus, the revered ‘VH1 Hip Hop Honors’ is back celebrating the best and brightest in hip hop with a twist. This year’s live event will pay homage to the female pioneers, trailblazers, and trend-setters who led a movement and infiltrated the ranks of the male-dominated genre to make their voices heard and still do today.”

Missy Elliott has had an impressive three-decade career, selling more than 30 million albums, and winning five Grammy awards.

Last month, Queen Latifah was the first honoree announced. Other honorees include Salt-N-Pepa featuring Dj Spinderella, and Lil’ Kim. Grammy Award-winning rapper Eve will host the evening.

“VH1 Hip Hop Honors: All Hail the Queens” will air this coming Monday, July 11 at 9 PM ET live from New York’s David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center.
