Trailer Watch: Anna Kendrick is Exiled to “Table 19”

“Table 19”

Almost everyone has been to a wedding where you notice “the table.” The one with the singletons, old bosses, young cousins, and weird neighbors. In the new trailer for “Table 19,” Anna Kendrick joins the exiled, but the good news is that she’s sitting with a pretty funny ensemble cast of supporting players.

“Ex-maid of honor Eloise,” the film’s tag line reads, “having been relieved of her duties after being unceremoniously dumped by the best man via text- decides to attend the wedding anyway only to find herself seated with 5 ‘random’ guests at the dreaded Table 19.”

Kendrick has been really busy as of late. She appeared in six films in 2014, three in 2015, and 2016 will see her in six, the most recent being “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.” She’s got “Trolls,” “The Accountant,” and “The Hollars” coming up. There’s also the third film in the “Pitch Perfect” franchise, which will soon begin production. She’s very talented, but not all these films live up to her talent.

“Table 19” will hit theaters in early 2017. It co-stars Amanda Crew, Stephen Merchant, Lisa Kudrow, Wyatt Russell, Craig Robinson, Tony Revolori and June Squibb. It was written by Jay and Mark Duplass (which is why it could be quite good and subversive) and directed by Jeffrey Blitz. Check out the trailer below:
