Britt Robertson, who starred in last year’s Disney sci-fi film “Tomorrowland,” will topline an upcoming Netflix original series called “Girlboss.” The 13-episode comedy was inspired by the best-selling book “#Girlboss” by Sophia Amoruso.

Roberton will play Sophia “a rebellious, broke anarchist who refuses to grow up. She stumbles upon her passion of selling vintage clothes online and becomes an unlikely businesswoman. As she builds her retail fashion empire, she realizes the value and the difficulty of being the boss of her own life.”

The series was created and is executive produced by Kay Cannon of “30 Rock” and the “Pitch Perfect” franchise. Oscar winner Charlize Theron is also on board to executive produce, along with Laverne McKinnon, Christian Ditter (“How to Be Single”) and the author herself, Amoruso. Ditter is set to direct.

Robertson broke onto the scene with “Tomorrowland” last year and has quite a few projects coming up. “The Space Between Us” hits theaters in August, “Mr. Church” opposite Eddie Murphy, in September, and the DreamWorks feature “A Dog’s Purpose” at the end of the year. Her previous small-screen credits include “Life Unexpected,” The Secret Circle,” and “Under the Dome.”
