Women won the majority of the major awards at last week’s Australian Directors Guild Awards. Cate Shortland won the Best Director award for her film Lore and Rachel Perkins won Best Director for direction of a TV drama series for Redfern Now. Women directors rock it in Australia. Their success is a model that should be studied.
Here are the other women who won.
Jessica Hobbs – Direction in a TV mini-series for Devils’ Dust
Jessica Reddenbach – Direction of a short film for Tender
Jennifer Peedom – Direction of a documentary series for Life At 7
Grace McKenzie – Direction of a documentary feature for Audrey of the Alps
